We thoroughly test Windows updates before recommending them, so you can proceed with confidence once approval is given. If you choose to update Windows, allow the system sufficient time to stabilize after the updates are complete—at least 30 minutes—before clicking “Disable Updates” in the 'Windows Update Blocker' software (located under 'Documents'). Onced clicked, Windows will never notify you for any future updates. As a general rule, never perform a Windows update shortly before a live performance. Always update in a controlled setting, such as at home, with ample time to ensure everything is working properly.

GIGPERFORMER FACTORY PRESETS (v.31.7.25) To restore the factory presets and Rackspaces as they were originally on the HS-1 unit. Download the zip file above. Alternatively, scan the QR code to see the latest version of this file.

NOTICE: Opening a .gig (GP) file with missing VSTs or unstable/buggy VST plugins can in some instances crash the software (a quick restart of the system will restore the ASIO driver to its original state). If the default option 'reload last gig on startup' is turned on, you might get stuck in an endless crash loop. A solution is to connect a USB keyboard and hold down the SHIFT key until you see the 'Temporary Startup Options' window. Then you can simply DESELECT 'load last gig file' so that you can troubleshoot which of your VST plugins have issues.

LATENCY ISSUES

Please stay within 60% CPU load at all times inside Gig Performer and monitor its CPU load! This is very crucial. Hitting 100% CPU (even for a second) will reset the driver and buffer settings to its default state (even if the software says otherwise) and you will end up with excessive latency. A quick reset of the audio settings will solve this or simply double clicking on the red exclamation mark at the top right corner of the software will lead to the same result of restoring the latency to your custom state.

LINGERING BACKGROUND SERVICES

Do not treat the unit as a laptop alternative. Office Suite and Adobe Reader installations linger in the background draining valuable resources. Same goes with any VST software that requires Wi-Fi in order to function (UAD Connect is a prime example). We urge you to avoid the above examples. Furthermore, some VST plugins add up excessive latency to the VST chains ( FabFilter Linear Phase for example can add a massive amount as well as 'look ahead' compressors). As much as we like these, all these examples are not meant for live use. Any use of the above in VST chains will add up excessive latency. Hover over any VST block under Gig Performer to see the actual amount of latency that is being added in samples.

NOTE:

  • You will find the CubeSuite App under 'Windows Explorer', 'My Documents'.
  • Connect your footswitch with the provided USB cable to one of the USB ports of your device.
  • Open the CubeSuite App and connect your footswitch to your HS-1.
  • Follow Instructions from photo 1-9 (or watch the video) to restore the factory settings of your footswitch.

Furthermore, your BT footswitch can be programmed to any imaginable configuration (from scrolling .pdf files, to multimedia keyboard emulation, to video controls, to Program Changes (PC), CC Midi messages, etc.). Connect your footswitch to the HS-1 with the provided USB cable and switch to PROGRAM CHANGE A from the factory ADVANCED CUSTOM mode. This will give you 8 groups of 4 PC (Program Change) banks (total 32 banks) to explore rather that the factory 4+4 buttons (short + long press) in alphanumeric sequence. Bear in mind that Program Changes (PC) act differently in GP. Each footswitch button now represents one RACKSPACE, so 1A,b,c,d banks represent the first 4 Rackspaces and bank 2A,b,c,d represent Rackspaces 5 to 8 etc BUT Rackspace (VARIATION) changes creates a challenge. Changing your BT footswitch to PROGRAM CHANGE C solves the issue by switching to CC hexadecimal blocks (you will have up to 128 numbers in 32 distinct banks) but you need to memorise how you count in HEXADECIMAL (BASE-16).
