We thoroughly test Windows updates before recommending them, so you can proceed with confidence once approval is given. If you choose to update Windows, allow the system sufficient time to stabilize after the updates are complete—at least 30 minutes—before clicking “Disable Updates” in the 'Windows Update Blocker' software (located under 'Documents'). Onced clicked 'Disabled', Windows will never notify you for any future updates. As a general rule, never perform a Windows update shortly before a live performance. Always update in a controlled setting, such as at home, with ample time to ensure everything is working properly.

Furthermore, please make sure you charge your device with the provided official 12v USB-C charger. Do not use any other USB-C charger to charge the device (mobile phone chargers, USB-C ports from laptops, etc.) as these can brick your device. Please read  our Charging Safety Manual.

GIGPERFORMER FACTORY PRESETS (v.13.09.26) To restore the factory presets and Rackspaces as they were originally on the HS-1 unit. Download the file above. Alternatively, scan the QR code on your desktop to see the latest version of this file as well as installing any missing VSTs used on this factory PRESET from folder '12. Extra VST plugin files'.

NOTICE: Opening a .gig (GP) file with missing VSTs or unstable/buggy VST plugins can in some instances crash the software and ASIO Driver with the message "Audio Interface not Found".

A quick restart of the system will restore the ASIO driver to its original state. Furthermore, the default option 'Reload Last Gig on Startup' is turned ON for your convenience, but in rare occasions, you might get stuck in an endless crash loop if there is an issue with any of your VST plugins. A solution is to connect a USB keyboard and hold down the SHIFT key while you open Gig Performer until you see the 'Temporary Startup Options' window. Then you can simply DESELECT 'Load last gig file' so that you can troubleshoot which of your VST plugins have issues. Alternatively, scan your QR code and go to 'Folder 13' to find the Individual Factory Rackspace Files. You can easily import them under GP one by one along with your custom made Rackspaces in order to troubleshoot which Rackspace or VST plugin has the issue. 

* We noticed a certain BYOD and Destroy FX VST related Gig Performer crash on some older units. Please scan your QR code, go to folder 13 and follow the video instructions of how to restore its function. *

LATENCY ISSUES

Please stay within 60% CPU load at all times inside Gig Performer and monitor its CPU load! ALWAYS USE THE ASIO - 2.0 NEVA UNO DRIVER (PREFERABLY @48KHz/64 BUFFER). 

This is very crucial. Hitting 100% CPU will reset the driver and buffer settings to its default state (even if the software says otherwise) and you will end up with increased latency. This is done on purpose as an 'alarm trigger' so that you go back and troubleshoot which of your VSTs have efficiency issues. A quick reset of the audio settings will solve this or simply double clicking on the red exclamation mark at the top right corner of the software will restore the latency to your custom state. We urge you to create SEPARATE Rackspaces (and Variations) under Gig Performer (and have your BT Footswitch switch between them) rather than using a single Rackspace for ALL your VSTs. Bear in mind that only the selected Rackspace is the one draining CPU power and not the rest, so having separate Rackspaces is extremely efficient + having 40% CPU headroom warranties worry-free switching between them. On the other hand, don't expect multi-instances of VSTs like Serum 2 on 'Ultra' settings with granular/spectral oscillators on the same Rackspace to function properly. Systems with ten times the power of our unit can even struggle as well (Serum 2 issues). So, be frugal with your choices and monitor which companies do not have effective and optimized software! It is not our responsibility to push companies to create more efficient versions of their software. 

LINGERING BACKGROUND SERVICES 

Do not treat the unit as a laptop alternative. Office Suite and Adobe Reader installations linger in the background draining valuable resources. Same goes with any VST software that requires Wi-Fi in order to function (UAD Connect is a prime example). We urge you to avoid the above examples and use offline VST apps that don't need periodically connections to the internet in order to function. Furthermore, some VST plugins add up excessive latency to the VST chains (FabFilter Linear Phase for example can add a massive amount as well as 'look ahead' compressors). As much as we like them, all these examples are not meant for live use. Any use of the above in VST chains will add up excessive latency up to 100ms! Hover over any VST block under Gig Performer to see the actual amount of latency that is being added in samples or milliseconds.

NOTE:

• You will find the CubeSuite App under  'Windows Explorer', 'My Documents'.
• Connect your footswitch with the provided USB cable to one of the USB ports of your device.
• Open the CubeSuite App and connect your footswitch to your HS-1.
• Follow Instructions from photo 1-9 (or watch the video) to restore the factory settings of your footswitch.

Furthermore, your BT footswitch can be programmed to any imaginable configuration (from scrolling .pdf files, to multimedia keyboard emulation, to video controls, to Program Changes (PC), CC Midi messages, etc.). Connect your footswitch to the HS-1 with the provided USB cable and switch to PROGRAM CHANGE A from the factory ADVANCED CUSTOM mode. This will give you 8 groups of 4 PC (Program Change) banks (total 32 banks) to explore rather that the factory 4+4 buttons (short + long press) in alphanumeric sequence. Bear in mind that Program Changes (PC) act differently in GP. Each footswitch button now represents one RACKSPACE, so 1A,b,c,d banks represent the first 4 Rackspaces and bank 2A,b,c,d represent Rackspaces 5 to 8 etc BUT Rackspace (VARIATION) changes creates a challenge. Changing your BT footswitch to PROGRAM CHANGE C solves the issue by switching to CC hexadecimal blocks (you will have up to 128 numbers in 32 distinct banks) but you need to memorise how you count in HEXADECIMAL (BASE-16).  Also bear in mind that CC0 and CC32 messages are reserved for Bank Select and they will be ignored under Gig Performer. Alternatively, if you need more than a single footswitch you can add up as many as you like.
